Ancelotti charges Mikel to keep focus

Chelsea boss Carlos Ancelotti has told Mikel Obi and his teammates to keep their focus on the league and to forget about Europe.

After arriving back from Russia where they trounced Spartak Moskva 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League, it was business as usual at the club’s training ground.
Chelsea is expected to pick the maximum points against Wolverhampton Wanderers easily enough at Stamford Bridge even after a stuttering performance against Villa last Saturday where they earned a goalless draw.

At home Chelsea have amassed 45 goals in their last nine Premier League performances and they have lost only once in 33 games on their home ground.

“We need all our players available all of the time because we must compete in all the competitions in England and Europe. For the moment we must forget Europe and concentrate on the Premier League.

It is a big test of our resources because we are playing two times every week. Any team in the world would miss players like Drogba and Lampard. But we drew at Aston Villa and then won against Spartak so we must be pleased with our progress. We have learned that we must treat every team with great respect. Wolves have great energy and determination and we must be at our best," Ancelotti stressed.
However, Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has a surprise in store for Stamford Bridge faithfuls despite sitting third from bottom with six points from the same number of fixtures.

But McCarthy is still convinced that Wolves can spring a shock with a simple change of style.
“The plan is to attack at every opportunity. If you sit back against Chelsea they will carve you up mercilessly. Not many teams go there and have a go at Chelsea but we will. The hard part is getting the ball back against them once you have lost it. We are going to have to work as hard as we have ever worked but if we get the ball and use it properly we can cause them some problems.”
