THIS IS TRULY NIGERIAN..GOOD PEOPLE, GREAT NATION
I have always had a dream of becoming a well respected and notable writer that would use the pen to change the course of my generation and have my name on the lips of endless generation, just like William Shakespeare, Wole Soyinka, Dan Brown, Chinua Achebe and a few others. I developed interest in writing and to that effect I had several unpublished story books and poems to my credit. As good as these efforts are, I could not get my works across to the populace not even a published work to my effort. I have parents who are very supportive and always encourage me to keep writing. I remember my father saying Dapo; keep writing because one day you get your works published. For me, the encouragement is nothing but seeing my work published is the dream. Like is commonly noted that a person is never happy till their vague strivings has itself marked out its proper limitations. I kept on writing but at a time I gave up the effort because nobody is getting to read my works except myself, my mum (who types them for me) and my dad (who usually proof read them). As at this period I happen to be one of the most unhappy people in the world, the unhappiest people around are those who have not found something they want to do. True happiness only comes to him who does his work well, followed by a relaxing and refreshing period of rest. True happiness comes from the right amount of work for the day. Truly, desire is the key to motivation, but it's the determination and commitments to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek. If the efforts are not yielding result what do you than to give up and try something else especially in a country like Nigerian where the general motto is all man for himself. No emotional crisis is wholly the product of outward circumstances. These may precipitate it. But what turns an objective situation into a subjectively critical one is the interpretation the individual puts upon it and the meaning it has in his emotional economy; the way it affects his self-image.
Mark Twain said and I quote "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream and Discover." I know very well as a matter of fact that Doctor John Pemberton never made a mistake in 1886 when he invented Coca cola because if he had not stick to that dream, you will never get to read this today. It is not an exaggeration but a fact devoid of fallacy. It is just surprising to me and my colleagues especially those that write in the CampusLife segment of the nation newspaper that our thoughts for the betterment of this country and for the passion of bringing campus happenings to the door steps of the populace is today, a reality. Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into a flame by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this light.

This is my own story what about my colleagues in the CampusLife family, they all have a story to tell. The good thing about this is that all the mysteries we faced individually have now turned to history because Coca cola has empowered us. The Coca cola Nigeria has helped us to shape our lives and make us responsible youths that have the love of the country in our heart. Coca cola indirectly through their empowerment had shut the doors of some prison yards and the doors of initiation camps. I say this because instead of us as growing minds to been thinking of unnecessary things; we are always busy tasking our brains and searching for reports in our various campuses. We have no time to waste because someone is ready to get our reports and opinions get to the door step of the populace. I make bold to say here that whoever said money can't buy happiness didn't know where to shop. Coca cola has always made us happy by sponsoring the publication of our write ups and this make us happy. Coca cola is spending money on us and this in turns bring us joy and happiness. Coca cola had made us keep away from people who try to belittle our ambition. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great. Most of us now believe that we don't have to be a fantastic hero to do certain things and to compete. We can be just an ordinary chap, sufficiently motivated to reach challenging goals. Thereafter we become heroes that think of what to offer the country and not what the country can offer us.
I have never been especially impressed by the heroics of people convinced that they are about to change the world. I am more awed by those who struggle to make one small difference in the life of another. Coca cola has distinguished itself from other multinational corporations by investing in the youths. I make bold to say at this moment that all other companies should copy this example. It should be noted that we’ve had enough from the musicians, artistes, comedians that you do bring to our university gates. Please try and invest those billions of naira that are used to organise shows and promos around the country to sponsor research works and develop the creative mindset of the university students. You can as well endorse some undergraduates as your Ambassadors and representative in their various environment and not those that have already made it through. Remember the youths are the leaders of tomorrow. It has be noted through our researches everywhere that most technological gadgets that are making wave around the country are developed by high school, college and university students from other countries in the world. They were able to achieve this through proper support from appropriate bodies. The youths are the change everybody wants to see in this country. You can help us achieve our dreams in life. Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes the ice melt, kindness causes misunderstandings, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.
This piece of my mind is not to sing praises on any company but to appreciate the effort they have made and to encourage them to do more empowerment. For those of us that have benefitted from Coca cola either through campus life or the football competitions around the country now, I say congratulations. Always remember that giving connects two people, the giver and the receiver, and this connection gives birth to a new sense of belonging. Aim for success not perfection. Remember that fear always lurks behind perfectionism. Confronting your fears and allowing yourself the right to be human can, paradoxically, make you a far happier and more productive person. To our amiable sponsor please help us make campus life twice in a week so as to give room for enough university undergraduates to express their thoughts on issues affecting them. I suggest Tuesdays and Thursdays. On this note I say God bless Coca Cola, God bless every other corporation around that is already thinking on what to do to empower the Nigeria youths and God bless the great land that is watered by the Niger and Benue between the sandy wastes and gulf of guinea, washed in salt by mighty Atlantic.
